Challenge The Norm 2020 Virtual Triathlon Challenge #TriForFibromyalgia
This February we bring you our first Virtual Triathlon! Now don't worry you don't have to cover the entire distance in one go! All you need to do is pick one of the challenges below and cover that distance over one or two months!
Doesn't matter how long or short each walk, run, cycle or swim is it just needs to add up to at least the total amount chosen by the end of the challenge! Once you have completed the distance simply email your evidence to firstname.lastname@example.org - simple!
Can I do it as part of a team?
Yes! You can choose to complete the challenge as a team of up to 4 members. We just ask that the group leader (the one that signs up) is the one that submits evidence for all the members.
When is the virtual triathlon?
Between the 1st and 29th February 2020 for the one month challenge and 1st February and 31st March 2020 for the two month challenge.
How do I log/track my activity?
You can log your activity in anyway you see fit. There are many great apps out there such as Strava, Garmin & Runkeeper (have a look on your phones app store!) We just ask that you submit your evidence by 1pm on the 14th March for the one month challenge & 1pm on the 14th April for the two month challenge in order for us to get your medal sent out to you ASAP!
What do I get for completing the challenge?
You get one of our awesome medals to add to your collection. We also have a range of clothing especially designed for this run that you can purchase here.
Why are you doing this?
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain and fatigue condition that affects the entire body and mind. You just can’t do the things you used to do, even if you are a very strong-willed person you'll end up suffering twice as much the next way if you do your best to push through and do things. It often causes extreme fatigue and problems with sleeping. Things you take for granted such as washing, popping to the shops or going out with friends becomes a hard chore and you often end up unintentionally isolating yourself. We want to raise awareness of this condition and the horrible affect it has on people's lives.
Fibromyalgia Action UK was chosen as the charity we wanted to support with this initiative as it's a cause that is very close to the directors hearts and does great work in providing support and information for those who suffer from fibromyalgia. For more information on the work Fibromyalgia Action UK do please see their website here - http://www.fmauk.org/
How does this help Fibromyalgia Action UK?
For each person that enters we will donate a minimum of 50% of our profit to Fibromyalgia Action UK. Simply put the more people that enter the lower the cost of the medals we are providing so we can donate more to Fibromyalgia Action UK. So please enter and share with friends, family and fellow runners!
Please note this run isn't endorsed or run by Fibromyalgia Action UK. It's run by us, from our own initiative to support Fibromyalgia Action UK.
